PRESS RELEASE
The Kalamazoo Integrated Dispatching Center announces an Open House.
This Wednesday, May 4th, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Integrated Dispatch Center will be open to the public for a tour.
The Center, which is a combined Dispatching Center for the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the Township of Kalamazoo Police and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department., is providing an Open House for the purposes of allowing the public to learn how the Center operates. All three agencies have recently joined the Michigan Public Safety Communication System (MPSCS), as well as combining telephone systems, radios systems and common dispatching computer systems.
This opportunity will allow the public to see how all three agencies function together and learn about the new equipment being utilized in the Center. On hand will be representatives from Motorola, MPSCS and all three agencies to provide information and demonstrations on how the Center operates.
