Kalamazoo PD and the 396XT

I have a question for you folks who live in or near Kalamazoo. I had a guy call me up wanting to buy my 396xt for PD up there. As I see it dont look like he would get much on it up there and I would not want to sell him it if he cant get what he wants to hear. Can anyone shed some light on what he could hear up there ? Thank you

Well, Kalamazoo and Calhoun county run full-time DES-OFB on all law enforcement talk groups so if he wants to scan LE unfortunately he is out of luck.

I believe FD and EMS are in the clear though.

That is one of the few areas in the state that chose to encrypt general dispatch groups.

Police is no go

Not all are encrypted so certainly up to your buyer if its worth it.
