Anyone in Kankakee verify this, im hearing ENC on KKCo TG34930,34931, also BourbonnaisPD TG34929,…Anybody else in KK leave the air ,….

On November 27, 2023, KANCOMM issued a press release stating, in part, "Over the next several months Kankakee County will be migrating its public safety radio system to an encrypted system."

I have noted the following agencies now encrypted: K3 CITY PD (34927), BRADLEY PD (34928), BOURBONNAIS PD (34929), SHERIFF (34930), LOCAL PD (34931). The changeover occurred approx 3 weeks ago. There may be other agencies that I am not aware of. So far, FD's are still in the clear.

By "public safety", I'm assuming that Fire will eventually be ENC too? If so, then that is beyond ridiculous.

There FDs still use Edispatches so they may encrypt the digital but analog will still be there. + the two feeds that are ran by the county for the edispatches calls

I doubt they'll get rid of the NFM FD paging freq. Most counties don't page on a TRS.
