That should be the FPS. They run 408.200 but are P-25 CAI and encrypted 100%.

...and "encrypted 100%" means you will never hear them.

If a guy wanted to see one of those cars, there is an officer that lives just west of Antioch on 87th street in Overland Park. I thought it belonged to one of the wannabe CERT wacko's who had decked out the old family sedan, but it has GSA plates on it.

Actually, there are occasional "in the clear" transmissions on 408.200, but it's true that the vast majority of comms are encrypted. The rule is: The less important the agency, the more likely they are to encrypt full-time. Makes 'em feel important.

BTW The Federal Court House in KC MO uses a VHF Repeater P-25

Their system is an in-building only system.

Repeter is a Relm 100 Watt P25 model
with EMR duplexer and a distributed antenna system that covers the basement floor all the way up to the top floor.

It also has a iDEN/CDMA Inbuilding system for the US Marshalls & building Maint folks.

I thought that US Court House security was the job of the USMS, that is the way
it is here, often Special Deputy US Marshals. I used to know all the kinds of
deputies, but don't remember many now, fee deputy, VRA deputy, office
deputy, field deputys, US Attorney deputy (for weapons carry only), etc, etc
Field Deputy is the one most often seen on the street. Oh and, of course,
the Chief Deputy! One kind of deputy has a Presidential appointment, but I forget what
you call them and NO, I'm not talking about THE U S Marshal for the District
who also is Presidential appointee. I've been retired too long.
