Hey

I will be traveling from one end of Kansas to the other in a couple of weeks.
The last time I was in Kansas it was lo band.
After looking at the Database, it seems to be 800.

Could someone comfirm what the status of the radio system is?

Thanks
DC

Its the 800mhz freq's, low band is all but obsolete. You will also find them on trunked systems of KC, Topeka, and Wichita.

Thanks Matt
Sorry to bother you with two more questions:

Are there any tac frequencies other than those listed?

What frequencies are the Turnpike using, or are they still on hi band?

Thanks

The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) is on a completely separate radio system than the rest of KHP. They're still troopers, but the KTA is on the 154mhz band dispatched separately out of Wichita. The rest of the KHP is on the 800mhz band dispatched from Salina. And like someone else said, KC, Topeka & Wichita are trunks.

If you look at what Buck provided it should help you out, I didnt compare to what RR has but I have a feeling its identical, minus the maps.

I don't know what you mean by "off the grid", but everthing looked good to me. BTW, did you get your issues resolved with your laptop?

Matt,

I used these last week on a trip down I-35/US-50/Sunflower-150/US-56/Sunflower-96/14 to Sterling. We were in and around Rice, Reno, Harvey, Stafford and Barton CO's for 5 days then departed Sterling for an RON at KOA Salina using Sunflower 14/156 to I-70. Then I-70 the next day through St Louis to I-64 to home 5 days later.

Nope! Im using a Download Manager for now.

Off the grid means that the pages I put in were not aligned the way I originally had, before I zipped them up to post here.

BTW, FMON, Where did you find those UHF freqs? And are they active?

Also, With the price of gas now, I was suprised to see you still made the trip?I hope you had a good time at your reunion!

Don't recall where the UHF's came from, however, I did not hear anything on them. I just searched the FCC site and found none have anything to do with KSPD.

We had a great time, so the cost was worth it and the alternative would have cost more. The total cost for gas was a little over a grand. Lowest price was $2.40 in Missouri and highest was my last fill up going east in West Virginia at $3.10 (3/4 tank cost $186.00). BTW, the prices listed were for mid grade gas.
