Well it is just about that time of year. Does anyone have a list of scanner frequencies that are used at the fair ground?

Found a listing of K.H.P. frequencies that shows a simplex frequency of 867.100 used for the state fair. If it is truly a simplex frequency, I have no way of monitoring it. Might want to program it in and give a listen.

867.10000 822.10000 WPNX670 RM 503 DPL State Fairgrounds Police FM

This is the KHP Fairgrounds repeater.... KHP is the "Fairgrounds Police" during the fair. They bring in 45+ Troopers from all over the state each year.

I like their Patrol golf carts!

Kansas State Prison in Hutchinson.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it stands for
(K)ansas (R)ehabilitation (D)etention (C)enter

Also, KLET needs a "C" behind it. Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center

OOOPS....Sorry... if Fish and Game (***) and You guys got together.... Well, I'll Leave it at that... I'll stop here with the Acronyms...HA HA

I did happen to notice that the KLETC (See the "C") put out a memorandom that as of last year there will be no more drinking while in training, on duty and off duty. Is there anyone on this forum who could fill in the details.

Now you know why I'm not a cop. When I drink the wise cracks and cheap shots get real bad! You may have seen my alter-ego being demonstrated on some of the finer television shows like COPS. (Yeah, That would be me, sporting a Mullet, looking like Joe Dirt with no shirt, being escorted out of the trailer court, holding onto a CB antenna and yelling " BUT I LUV HER")

The Mallard Marshalls are going to come get you!

KLETC is also called "Yoder Tech"

Anyone want to make a bet whether they try out the P-25 digital HT's at the fair this year?

When I went through K.L.E.T.C. Also known as "Yoder U" we had a handful of "Wildlife & Parks" officers attending. It's been a few years ago, but these are the ones I remember.............

Mallard Marshall
Duck Deputy
Rabbit Ranger
Carp Cop

I later attended the Kansas Highway Patrol Academy for "continuing Education" not as a cadet. The "commandant" of the KHP academy was A. Furbeck (sp)
Several Troopers there called the KHP Academy,
" Furbeck University of Central Kansas"

You can figure out the acronymn on your Own.

Effective 03/14/05, KLETC apdopted a no alcohol policy. The recruits cannot consume alcohol between Sunday evening and when they are released to go ho home for the weekend on late Friday afternoon.

Don't count on any P-25 digital in use at the fair. The system has one of the standard KDOT analog repeaters.

Not sure where anyone got the idea that "Yoder U" folks would patrol the state fairgrounds. Security in the fairgrounds has been KHP Troopers as long as I can remember. Outside the fence is the responsibility of Hutchinson / Reno Co SO.
