Keep hearing references to KB Cox or KB Cobb. I would assume it is some type of database. Anyone care to elaborate on what this is? Is it in addition to the NCIC database, or something completely different?
Thanks

KBCOPS is Knowledge Based Community Oriented Policing System. It is basicly a data base that the police can access on the computers in the station or in the cars. They put as much data as possible in a computer form and then it is able to be extracted on any field. Consider a make believe robbery where one bad guy calls another Buddy. They enter that into the KBCOPS system along with the crime, number and descriptions, locations etc. Six months from now across town another thief is called Buddy. This is searched and you have a possible match. KBCOPS began about 2000 and it is just growing and growing since.

Put KBCOPS in a Google search. The few articles that pulled make me assume that CMPD may be the first or only Public Safety department using this system. No mention of anyone else.
Pretty impressive. Looks like they have been planning this system out since about '99.
