In a previous life, I worked as a railroad speacial agent in the Armourdale area. I don't know that they can be identified by car number. The talk groups that pop up pretty well tell you where they are, but in reality things were always so crazy , they would all end up running to hot calls anyway, no matter where they were assigned and alot od them were hot calls. I do not listen to them as much as I used to as I no longer work in that area. At that time it paid to know what was going on around there . The talk groups can be found in the database section and are still pretty much the ones I have kept in my files. One of their dispatchers used to hang out on one of the yahoo groups I believe, but I no not recall his posting id. That is about the limit of my knowledge other than that is one busy place to work most of the time.

I have looked arond as well for a list of radio number assignments for KCK with no luck. Unless they are nice like KCMO and put it online, the only way were probably going to get a good list is to start one. The division/district units will be the most comon heard so that would be a good place to start.

To date I have not logged units I hear on KCK so I am not going to be much help right off the bat. Starting tonight I will begin noting who I hear and where for future posts. Does anyone have any confirmed unit numbers for divsions / districts to start off?

Last night I parked on 'TG 16 A Center' and heard quite the mix of radio numbers. Noticed the last two numbers are used most of the time by the patrol divisions and not too often do they use the first one (at least last night).

Accoridng to KCK PD the Center Patrol Division is broken into 7 districts with 3 shifts. Center has 8 Sgts, 2 Capts, 1 Major.

Im wondering if the patrol unit radio number is something simple. For example unit 112
1=Division (1=Center 2=West 3=South)
1=District (looking to confirm 1-7)
2=Unit Type (0 for Sgts)

This is just a guess.

At last night's J-1 I noted the follwing..Normal Patrol units not listed.

110 Sgt
130 Sgt
Asked for Major Case Squad and CSI @ scene.
1423- Looking for casings in road
790- enroute J-1 scene
Cruiser 5- same
