I see tonight Liberty PD vehicles are about 75% or more complete with new 800mhz antennas. Any word on how close they are to being online? Originally heard they would be online in November so it sounds like they are progressing to meet that target date.

They are very close. Their radios have been programmed. All that's left now is installation, and they should be done with VHF. Once Pleasant Valley goes P25 (most likely mid-2014), everyone in Clay County should be digital with the exception of Kearney and Excelsior.

I thought Pleasant Valley was already on MARRS?? Are they getting rid of the patch and going 100% on to it?? Any ideas if Excelsior and Kearney will be on it?

The patch was dropped a long time ago. Pleasant Valley has their own VHF channel, while Oakview has their own MARRS talkgroup. Both are "multi-selected" on the dispatch console, so when the dispatcher keys up, he/she is talking on both simultaneously. I'll have to post a picture sometime so you get an idea of how that's set up. Not sure what Excelsior and Kearney has planned.

Talk Group 34361

It appears the municipalities that jackson County Sheriff dispatches for are now tied to talk group 34361 on MARRS.

151.01 - Greenwood
151.175 - Grain Valley
159.12 - Oak Grove
155.79 - Lake Lotawana, Lake Tapawingo, Lone Jack

All are broadcasting the same audio.

Scanner programing assistance BC996T

Greetings everyone.

I have been out of scanning for some time. I am seeking some assistance in updating my firmware and programing it for the various police and State agencies in the KCMO Metro area.

I would be willing to pay you for your time. Your assistance would be greatly appreicated.

Interesting tidbit: I heard KCMO Fire Dispatch talking to an unknown EMS unit tonight discussing which talkgroup to switch to for their call. For those that don't know, fire and ems are always dispatched on A1, the primary dispatch tg, and then the responding units are told to switch to A3 or A4 for the duration of the call.

It turns out that talkgroup A3 is used for calls that are NORTH of 31st street, and A4 is used for all calls SOUTH of 31st street.

mgolden2 any idea on what these are 33002, 33005 and 33009. I've heard mainly EMS dispatched. The traffic is very infrequent. I don't listen to much, so I've not been able to figure the channel names.

Fire and EMS both are dispatched on 33000 then both are moved to either A3 or A4 depending on where they are responding to.

A3 = 33007
A4 = 33008

Heard a new talkgroup last night that is not in the database. It sounded like 2 people, officers or security maybe, were looking for a car but I did not catch where they were at. Talkgroup is 34386 and I was listening to the KCMO control channels.

simulcast

Anyone notice that the simulcast is at its very worst in the winter time?...due to lack of foliage possibly ? my opinion only...have to move the 106 to another sweet spot to make it work and add ATT...still not what it should be...just throwing this out there on a winters day...let's hope the new Uniden scanner has "fixed" this problem. I will make the switch and go into debt and get one if it does...

Anyone got one of these yet to see how they work on the "simulcast" system here in KC?...I'm on the fence waiting to see how it performs before I go into debt ...We need some reports.....
