Not sure if I'm posting properly. Please advise if I need to post elsewhere. This is a first:

Just bought a Uniden BCD996XT and had it programmed (and reprogrammed) by a local "tech" here in Sumter County, SC. He programmed the Palmetto 800 and APCO-25 Interfaces. No problem picking up city, county, ems and fire; however, I am having trouble picking up SCHP. The only time I've been able to pick up SCHP was a one-time, 20-minute interval.

Can anyone offer any advice or help me find a programmer that I can contact (within 50 mi. radius) that CAN and will help me with this problem? Frustration is growing. Thanks so much.

I almost pulled the trigger and bought one, but due to the mixed bag reviews...it's gonna be a while. They need to get some bugs worked out before I'll sh*t out another $500+ on a new scanner.

Glad that you feel the same way I do about this....the reviews are confusing at times and some of them are like Uniden employees are using this forum to sell there units....( if you read between the lines at times.)..I could be all wrong about this...hope I am...I would like to have a scanner that can work with the simulcast we have here in KC...The PRO 106 does not do a bad job if its in the right spot...

Glad you have no problems ...what is your location? ...mine is around 108th and north oak ...still get garble off and on....not bad. Have often thought of getting a Uniden to see if it could decode better..from what you say they do...

I have the 436 but I live South of KC out of range of the Missouri sites. I can receive the Johnson County sites very well RF wise but it won't decode from my location. I'm hoping to be in the KC area this next weekend and I will let you know how it does.

Going to Dinner so don't have my Laptop with me.

When you say small towns talkgroup (34386) for Jackson County, are you referring to law enforcement? I have 34361 as dispatch for the small town police depts. Is 34386 used as a talkaround channel?

Also, I can confirm 34386 is NOT used by anyone in Clay County (it's not on the programming templates for our subscriber radios up here).

Hi folks

The submitter has been very reliable in the past, just like all of you have.
I have removed the TG in question till we can verify what it is and who has it.

He too works in the system and has some inside knowledge, just like some of you have and me included.
apparently we are not all "in the loop" on this one.

So I have egg on my face and so the does the submitter.
I have PM the submitter to get further details of the traffic and what was up here.

So far every city that is dispatched by Jackson Co has 2 talkgroups to talk on besides the main talkgroup of 34361. Sorry If I sounded confusing earlier.

34382 Lake Lotawana Pd
34383 Lake Lotawana Pd 1
34384 Lone Jack Pd
34385 Lone Jack Pd 1
34386 Greenwood Pd
34387 Greenwood Pd 1 = What they called it not me

There is more then this but I haven't taken the time to listen to my logs and find the rest.

34386 Sounds like Lee's Summit PD used as a talk around. Either or JACO SD working with LS PD. All basic traffic stuff in LS area.

No worries, I just wanted to verify it was indeed law enforcement vs something non-public safety.

I too will do some logging later this week (time permitting), to see what else is out there. Aside from Independence, I'm pretty much out of the loop on the "goings on" down in Jackson and Cass Counties.

Oh, one more thing, does anyone know what this 700MHz system is going to be used for?:
ULS License - Trunked Public Safety 700 MHz License - WQSI913 - JACKSON, COUNTY OF

It's licensed to Jackson County Sheriff, but I haven't heard any control channel activity on the system since the FCC granted it back in September.

Mistakes happen...definitely not the end of the world :). Between all of us who regularly monitor the system, someone will get it figured out one way or another.
