I've seen KCPD officers with Harris P7200 and P7300 portables (both have P25 and EDACS capabilities). Not sure what they're using for mobiles since the switch. KCFD is supposed to be getting all Moto gear.

I think RMC's have the M7100 in them.

that's what I'm getting at times too with the 106....broken audio ....and I live within the KC area in the North Zone...

I have been tweaking my radios these past few days, I have a 500 and a 600, the only real significant thing I found was to take the delay off and use only one control channel 851.05000.
They are using just the one control channel, perhaps it is because I am in the center of town...can anyone confirm this? If you'd like I can email my .P500 file. kd0nxk@gmail.com

Yes I think it does...but that's for my location, not sure if it's the same for yours, I have lots of buildings around me, I have 5 antennas, 2 on the roof (45' up) and am able to do some testing with 2 similar radios.
So far I am happy with it, it's better than it was. Do you have this link? Easier to Read Pro-106/197/PSR500/600 Digital Scanner Manual Check out optimize and analyze.

Ok yes I forgot about the link you mentioned....I turned down the squelch and that seemed to help it lock in...audio was better...thanks for the tip...

Sounds like Gladstone has switched to the KC system. Lots of traffic on 35755 this morning. Their old 800 channel has been silent.

Some more talkgroup finds:

35753-Gladstone Fire and EMS Tone-Outs
35750-Gladstobe Fire Response Ch and Scene Size-Up
35765-Gladstone Public Works

NKC was testing earlier on 35805 and 35807. Most of it was encrypted. Looks like they haven't switched over quite yet as their conventional 800 channels are still active.

It's possible they're just testing the ENC feature. We'll have to wait and see what the final results are once they finally do get switched over. I can't think of any reason why they would need to secure the routine dispatch stuff. Yup, I just got done submitting those.

I just heard NKC PD in the clear, not sure if they are fully changed over or not. I also heard ID: 33000, couldn't tell who it was, possibly a FD, but not sure, anyone else confirm this?? It was in the clear.

33000 is KCFD Dispatch (Fire Units). Sounds like they're running a patch off of the EDACS system. Haven't heard KCFD EMS yet. 35850 is Riverside Police and Fire Dispatch and 35865 is Riverside Public Works.

Ok great, can't wait til FD/EMS and everyone else joins on!! I wonder how many agencies around KC are going to join as time goes on. I thought I heard Grandview and Raytown may join on, as well as Life Flight Eagle...

Last I heard, Lee's Summit PD/FD will eventually go P25 but stick with conventional UHF. Life Flight will have a talkgroup on the JOCO system when MARCER moves away from Moto Type II.
