Lots of new construction on the KCS lines in Jackson, MS-

They are expanding/changing the line routage in the metro Jackson area over the next few months with several miles of new tracks, and trying to ease crossing problems for metro Jackson. Also being added is a new signal/control station at the south end of the KCS-CN/IC yard link. This means those listening to KCS ops will soon have to learn the new route system in order to spot.

According to the dayshift KCS YardMaster, No changes are planned currently. They will be going to adding digital, and narrowband in the next few years along with CN/IC, and every magor RailCorp... But the only magor changes right now are just to the trackage....

Special note- In regards to CN/IC-

The Road freq 161.1900 is also used as primary Yard Ops for Jackson....

All primary comms are on this chan, with 160.9200 used for talking to dispatch North, and South of Jackson. Carmen use 161.4600, and others for in yard ops.... KCS trains traversing the CN/IC yards to access thier lines talk on 161.1900, and CN/IC trains use the KCS Primary of 160.5450 when crossing the KCS yard....
