Looks like they want to get back on the air along with another Audacy station. Lower power with some antenna sharing. It must be worth it to be on the air AM on MW.

Yeah, they've probably got a few more years left in them. The other station, KXST, is a sport betting station, so it probably has some life left in it, too.

I would listen to KDWN locally in northwest arizona. With a half decent radio the signal is great even during the daytime.

If AM is dead/dying, why are they actually trying to bring these two back? I bet it's because they lost a sizable chunk of their audience (much of which is comprised of white conservative males 65+, I believe) and their ratings have gone down a bit as a result. This is only speculation, however.

That said, I managed to catch the final signoff back in March.

I'm actually surprised it'll be coming back. I was under the impression that Audacy surrendered KDWN's license, and it would be silent forever, but evidently they didn't?

I wonder if it'll be receivable from my QTH (SF Bay Area, CA) as before (NV stations in general seem to come in pretty well here at night when the skywaves are active, and KDWN in particular came in quite well, even with their meager 7,500 watts of night power).
