I’m looking for the new frequency for the Kenilworth New Jersey police department. They used to operate on 159.250

Recently, they were on 154.000 but now I can’t seem to find them. Does anyone know if they change frequencies again or went to an 800 ?

Have you looked in the RadioReference database?

Please take some time to get familiar with how the RadioReference database works. There are links to the Database all over this site. You go to that link, then browse to your State and County. Scroll down to the town you're looking for, then read the notes and see if there is a related trunked system listed. All of this info is posted for Kenilworth. Click the link to the related trunked system, and scroll down again to the county you're interested in, then look at the listings to find Kenilworth.

It's all right there, no mystery to it.

Yes I did. I see that the frequencies are in the listing on your site. I have four different scanners. I cannot pick them up at all on 154000 or the old frequency 159210

Conventional frequencies are for backup only.

and the police and fire have a T under mode, which means they are P-25 phase 2.
and i see simulcast so you might want to consider a uniden SDS series scanner.

Welcome to the RR forums. They operate on NJICS. I'll assume Union County Simulcast though I'm sure I'll be promptly corrected and reprimanded for spreading misinformation if I'm wrong :ROFLMAO:

Your assumption would be correct considering you can see the tower up on the mountain in Mountainside from Kenilworth, which is part of the Union Co Simulcast.

Also note 5225 capture with “joins” only. Fits as Kenilworth Fire Ops.
The single RID is 2008xxx. No grants yet. No DB sub as unconfirmed ATT.
