Took a trip to Augusta yesterday and changed the channel on my radio to hear the Kennebec SO and never heard anything come across. At a couple points in my trip I heard some digital traffic come across. Just checked again from my house and same thing. Have they bought into the digital koolaid?

I noticed yesterday that they are P25, NAC 770 They used to be hard to get where I am in Pittston but they're loud and clear now.

Ok. Thank you for the information. I kind of figured they might have from the sounds of the signal. Looks like I'm going to have to invest in a deluxe digital scanner with all these out of state companies along with federal dollars flowing into Maine converting radio communication. Digital must use a much lower raw RF signal because when I was watching the signal in places I normally picked it up full scale, it is now down to 1/4 of what it used to be. Anywho, thanks again for the update on the info. Much appreciated.

I recently bit the bullet and upgraded to digital after seeing my brothers SDS200.
Kennebec was still doing a lot of radio checks as of last night. Though I’ve heard none today.

Sorry I should have been clear. I had been listening to them (NAC 770) but now I don't heard anything anymore.

Not sure. They did go digital on NAC 770. I was able to pick them up in Lewiston. I have not been monitoring for a week, but I will see if I can pick them up

Update. I was able to pick up KSO on the current freq and NAC of 770 sitting in my living room in Lewiston on a Portable

They must have changed to directional antennas on the tower and lowered their power drastically because I used to pick them up clear as a bell here at my house and since they went digital, their signal is degraded to almost nothing. Even being in the waterville area, their signal is almost non existent.

That makes sense I was able to pick them clear as day in Gray and then nothing.
