I am hearing a new signal which sounds like continuous MDT or control channel noise on 155.0175 in the MKE area. When looking up this frequency, it's listed under Kenosha Co. under a relatively new call sigh of WREK281. This call sign is shared with other county frequencies in analog mode including 155.955 {sheriff disp] and 151.235 [fire disp]. Any thought on what this is? Why is 155.955 listed as analog under this callsign when it is in P25?

Greetings,

I have been hearing some sort of new noisemaker on 155.0250 from my home on the southside of Milwaukee area. I am guessing they are related. I don't really pick up anything on 155.0175 so possibly is centered on 155.0250 ? Are you hearing it from Kenosha or just going based on license? Otherwise, I am going to be in the Racine area on Monday so I can check out what I hear.

I suppose you could be correct with 155.025. I was assuming that it was 155.0175 since that frequency is licensed and not the other frequency anywhere near here. Please let us know what you find as you go further south, I'm hearing it at my QTH which is near the zoo in MKE.

Tonight, I am not hearing it on 155.0250 or 155.0175. Are you hearing it on regular stock scanner antenna or do you have an outside antenna? I have an outside one and I have gotten the signal about 3.5-4 bars out of 5, which is what level I usually receive Kenosha SO/PD.

According to the WREK281 license, there are 6 frequencies, which I have figured out as:
151.2350 Fire REPEATER (Repeats ?)
153.8750 Input to 155.9550
155.0175 ? REPEATER (Repeats ?)
155.9550 Sheriff REPEATER (Repeats 153.8750)
159.1575 Input to ?
159.3450 Input to ?

Does anyone know which is the input to 151.235 and which is the input to 155.0175? 151.235 has 2 other input frequencies listed in 3 other license records. Does anyone know which is correct for 151.235, or does it vary by tower. I made a map to try to figure this out, it is viewable at: https://arcg.is/1vPmPi1

151.2350 is not a repeater as of yet (I have heard it is suppose to be one eventually). I am guessing the noise maker that prowisscan and I are hearing on 155.0250 is originating from ILL and not Kenosha area. I was in southern Racine area tonight and couldn't get a clean signal on 155.025 to see if DSDPlus could decode it.

I found another P25 system on 155.025 in the northwestern part of the state, and also another in Eau Claire.

I am hearing the noisemaker as Tim describes again this morning on 155.025; I know from my time living in Ill, that this freq was used as a statewide mutual aid channel for emergency government and severe weather warnings all in analog.
My question now is with the new call sign WREK281, it lists 155.955 as being in the NFM mode. This frequency used for sheriff is currently in P25 mode [NAC270]. Does this mean that the sheriff will go back to analog?

Yet another update. I have been hearing traffic on 155.0175 P25 304. What little that I've been able to monitor is a 300 unit calling sheriff; I am assuming this may be municipalities calling as traffic on 155.955 continues as normal. Too busy to really verify at this time.
