Does anyone know why the uniden 396xt scanner doesnt receive kenosha sheriff dispatch well? It's 155.955 nac270. It receives kenosha police dispatch just fine.

Kenosha Co. Sheriff uses a simulcast system, so unless you are near a tower site or have a newer generation scanner, you will have poor reception.

Try setting the ATTENUATOR setting to that specific channel to ON.

Did that change? It's showing a P25 Conventional system and the 396xt should receive them unless they recently encrypted?

Conventional P25 simulcast exists, look at Green and Clark counties which have also implemented LSM/CQPSK simulcast conventional P25 repeater networks.

I'm unsure which license is the correct license as 3 show for 155.955, two list the sheriff's dept as the holding entity and the other just lists the county, none of them have emissions designators for P25. Two of them do have multiple towers listed, however.
