What is the best set of frequencies to listen to during the Kentucky State Fair? I got the frequencies for the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, and Kentucky Kingdom. Is there any thing else? excluding Police/Fire/EMS.

Thanks In Advance

Might want to do some searches of Business Band frequencies.. Also, I'm sure FRS/GMRS will be quite chatty as well.

If your interested in any police for the fair...I know you mentioned not wanting them, but the KSP does the security for the fair and work off simplex 154.920.

I will work on some other ones for you as well as it gets closer.

There is a vhf that I need to find for concert security. I think it is 151 something.

Doug

update: 151.625 pl 114.8 simplex...Andy Frain Security concert channel
Also KSP fair is 154.920 pl 162.2 simplex

Got bored and took the daughter to a parking lot in the area and started monitoring. Here is what I have confirmed so far.

KSP Officers and Wreckers 154.920 pl 162.2
KFEC Sec (poss medical as well) 453.4125 167.9
KFEC Maint 453.5375 pl 203.5
KFEC 453.4625 pl 167.9
KFEC Gate Control 462.3625 065 dcs

Hope this helps a little and I will probably do it again Friday.

I was at the fair today, Sunday, and the portables definitely had VHF antennas. I did not have a scanner of frequency counter, but every portable I saw had them. Also, security guards did not have radios at all.

I've heard KSP on the 154.92 frequency with a pl of 162.2 all during the fair. So that's a valid frequency.

I do know that all of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center's radios are on UHF, but I can't remember the exact frequencies. They have a lot of contract security services and ushering services who have their own radio systems and I haven't a clue whether they are VHF or UHF.

KSP was actually using a repeater this year. First time in a long time I heard them using one.

The security for the Fairgrounds during normal operations is in the database. I think it is something like 453.4125. They were using that one during the fair as well. Andy Frain has primary security responsibility for the fairgrounds and most of the concerts.
