Does anyone know what the tactical frequencies are for KSP? I have listened in Bowling Green and Owensboro and they will say "go to Tac" and then it is completely silent. In Owensboro, which is where I live and listen to most frequently, the frequency that is the strongest for KSP is 460.2500-which is Reed Dispatch. In BG the most clear is 453.7250. On the RR section for KSP is says :

"Some use of repeater inputs (i.e. 5 MHZ higher than output) is being noted for talkaround/tactical frequencies."

I have programmed 465.250 and 458.725 hoping that these would be the frequencies based on the statement above with no luck.

What are the tactical frequencies?

Thank You.

Try 453.300Mhz...this is used as the "Tac" channel they are often talking about...this frequency is also used by KVE (Vehicle Enforcement)...
Hope this helps!

I do not know this for an absolute fact, but in KSP's VHF portable radios, they have several frequencies. One is 154.665, which is their vehicular repeater. Also 153.92 (which is listed in the RR DB as "Tactical Operations"). Another is 154.92. They are also licensed for 155.370 and 155.475.

So they might be using their VHF portables. Owing to how close you are, you may or may not hear them.

The 154.920 is the simplex channel that they use during the Kentucky State Fair every year. The 155.475 is suppose to be a simplex statewide channel. I think all post have capability to monitor that frequency, just not sure if they do.

The fairgrounds set up is on a repeater, which they did a few years ago. However in the beginning it was simplex.

I am still waiting for the to say "go to Tac" so that I can test all of the frequencies you all gave me. Once I can verify I will let you all know. Thanks for your help!

I can tell you that my wife and I lived in Richmond for over a year and I would hear them say "go to tac" in both Posts 7 & 12 and each time I heard it the troopers would switch to 453.300Mhz in the usual KSP digital format...I am sure you will find the same to be true :)

I am looking forward to hearing it but unfortunately nothing yet. There IS a downside to living in an area where the crime activity is low-not alot of scanner activity monday through thursday.

I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow (friday) night. :)

You probably will need a great deal of patience. I think there is very infrequent use of these channels, and they will have to be close to you to hear.
