ive got a kenwood 272g, the one without the full keypad. it was set up with a security code that you have to enter to make any changes to the programming via computer. the radio belongs to me and am not sure why the person who set it up for me put that in there. they dont know the code they say. is there a way to reset it or am i stuck with a radio that i cant use anymore.

you should be able to just start all over if you know the freqs and PL tones that u need. getting it to read and tapping into the password blocked data that is already in the radio i dont think is possible to get around but like i said u should be able to just set what u want and reprogram it all as if it were a new radio never used

Google Turns up exactly what CCEMS was saying. To Per Say Reset the Passcode the only way possible is to Overwrite the Existing Data Blocks with a new Program. You have to use the Same exact Program Version and all. Just compose a new Program, and Enter in all your Frequencies and PL/DPL's and your Settings you Want then write to the Radio. DO NOT Read the Radio as it will pull the Passcode and Current Data off the Radio which is what your trying to Overwrite. Hope this Helps Charlie
