I ran across the thread below, but it is "Not open for further replies", so I am starting another one.

I, too, am now looking for a UHF DMR mobile that is capable of a FPP (Front Panel Programmable) option.

Mmckenna suggested the radios below. Would these still be good choices?

Kenwood NX-5800(B) is UHF (Prefer Type 2: 380-470 MHz)

Kenwood NX-3820HG is UHF (Prefer Type 2: 400-470 MHz)

The NX-5800(B) shows that is is capable ot 512 channels per zone. Would that be the same for the NX-3820HG?

What would be the major differences between these two radios?

I did see that the NX-5800(B) Type 2 goes down to 380 MHz, but that wouldn't matter to me.

Can I get a wide-band authorization for either of these?

Are these "too new" to have FCC Part 95 Type Acceptance?

Would the NX-1800H be suitable, too? Is that capable of FPP?
