Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I found it on ebay so I always am. The CD is a kenwood cd but doesn't look like the other kenwood cd's I've purchased. That's why I came on here hoping there was a professional kenwood programmer that could help me out lol

That is called somebody taking a bunch of software they found on other sites and compiling a single CD and selling it. Not even close to being at an official Kenwood release

It sorta looks iffy. The description says "We do not make this product." I dunno. Maybe it's something his brother-in-law puts together. If it was compiled from credible sources, the software MIGHT be alright except for some copyright violations.

I'm going to get it and see what it is like and I will let you guys know if it is the real deal or not. I won't program any good radios with it. I'll go for an old one that's lying around to see how it does.

Doesn't look anything like any of the recent Kenwood LMR programming software CD's I've purchased (direct from Kenwood dealers) recently.

There is no "Master Disk" that I've ever heard of. Any dealer that needs software can just download it off the DealersTools page.

I agree with the others, this is some dude that just compiled all the Kenwood software they had onto one disk. Although only a couple of them are recent versions, if you want to trust what they are showing. Most of the software is a few (or more) versions out of date. Since some software version revisions are tied to firmware revisions, not all of these will necessarily work. Some will even tie you into narrow banding if you are not careful.

The other issue is that without the license key for the individual versions, the software on it's own won't do you any good.

I like the "Do not make illegal copies" on the CD, that's a bit ironic. The "copyright" on the bottom just adds to it.

That's the same seller who put every Motorola RSS and CPS ever leaked onto a DVD, and then laughably puts "Do Not make illegal copies of this disk" on labels, trying to pass them off as legit.

He also sells bogus Toughbook "recovery disks".
