Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,

Our department recently purchased NX-200 (portables) and NX-700 (mobiles).
I am trying to figuring out the right programming to get the "Emergency" buttons when activated to display on all the other radios so that when one activates it, all others that have the radio on will be able to see who has activated the Emergency button.

We have this programmed on our Kenwood TK-2180 (portables) and TK-7180 (mobiles).
When someone activates the Emergency button, all other radios alternate the text on the radio display from "Emergency" to the Radio ID so that everyone can see who has activated it.

I'm not sure what I'm missing to get it to display when activated.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Since you were using analog radios, I assume that you are using Fleetsync for the optional signalling for the emergency status. A couple things that you could check in your .dat file. Under the emergency information window, emergency 2 tab, look at the emergency fleet tab and verify that it is set for the fleet that the current radios are using. The emergency feet id should be set to all so that everyone within the fleet receives the emergency status. Next I would look in the Fleetsync window. Make sure under the general 1 tab that message display type is set for alternate and that the caller id tab is enabled. After that make sure that the channel that you are using this emergency status on has the optional signalling set for Fleetsync within the channel edit tab. These are a few things that could cause your problems, not all but a good place to start.
