Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi my friends

I have a Kenwood NX3720 that won't turn on. I checked the DC line inside the radio and it seems fine. All six fuses in the radio are good.
If anyone in the group knows of any specific problems with this Kenwood model that prevent the radio from turning on, it would be very helpful in getting it fixed.

I know there may be more than one reason, but I hope it's just one specific reason!

Thank you my friends

regards.

What's the history of this radio? New, new to you, used, e-bay?

Have you tried applying +12v to the ignition sense line?

used, working every day, but suddenly stopped turning on !

And the ignition line? No, I haven't checked that.

It is used as a base radio, it uses an Astron SS18 power supply, it is working well

Pin 2 on the DB-15 is ignition switch.

If it wasn't set up for that before, and you didn't change it in programming, then you probably need to sit down with the service manual and go through it step by step. Or, send it off for repair. Sounds like you checked the obvious things.

Okay, thanks for your feedback. I'll keep looking for the manual. I'll print it out first since I have it in PDF.

Best regards.
