• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all users.

I've been trying to buy the programming software for kenwood nx700/800 and was told that I can get it from a dealer in my area. My dealer refuses to sell it to me and so I would appreciate it if anyone can let me know where I can purchase it online. I have already purchased the programming cables from epcom and tried purchasing the software but they said they do not have it.

I need this software to program my NX800 to digital trunk and have my computer communicate with my scanner. I also especially need it because I have no use for my programming cables without it.

Thank you very much and have a good day.

Don't waste your money on 111D because it won't allow you to program a nexedge trunked radio without the .skf file which the system administrator will never give you..

Will the Kenwood NEXEDGE radios work going through a ICOM IDAS repeater in conventional mode?

No, an analog repeater will not pass digital. My firehouse is actually looking at upgrading our repeater to digital because we like these radios so much. We use the scramble feature on our analog repeater and digital for simplex for now.

Only in 6.25 kHz bandwidth. The Icom radios and repeaters only do NXDN digital at 6.25 kHz. The Kenwood radios and repeaters do NXDN at 12.5 kHz and 6.25 kHz bandwidths.

Make sure the Kenwoods are programmed to operate at 6.25 kHz or it won't work with the Icoms!

The Icom IDAS repeater set in Digital mode with pass both Digital and Anaog transmissions.
if the repeater is set in analog mode is will only pass that mode traffic

The front hand mic will transmit in Analog.

Mixed Digital Repeating
A repeater set for mixed digital is capable of receiving both digital and analog signals, and will

Scrambling fire comms? Why?

Not knockin ya, just wonder the value of scrambling fire comms.

Rich

Sorry took so long to get back to ya.

We don't scramble official fire comms, just our private channel.

Okay guys, so I have the 111D software and the proper programming cables. Now, let me explain my scenario. I have two nx700s, one of which is part of my complete business system, and another which belongs to a seperate system. What I want to do is clone my nx700 to my other nx700, to add it to the seperate system. The 111D software limits this ability however, because it requires a .skf file that my system administrator has (and will not give). Is there any way around this? If so, please leave a reply or send me a message. Thanks!

Hi ghayon, have you gotten the .skf file from administrator ? If I don't want to clone 2 nx-700, may I load the same program on both the radios ? Could you please explain more how to set these 2 radios to communicate propely ? thanks in advance !
