If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have Kenwood Tk-5210, and when switch between zones, the radio picks up traffic on channels not in my scan list. Is there setting in programming i can fix this?
I looked everywhere and haven't had any luck fixing this issue.

I have scan type set it conventional single zone. That is the only thing i set. Would changing it to just conventional zone fix the channels not in scan list from stopping?

It would be worth testing that. Without being able to test your codeplug (sold the 5210 at the orlando hamfest)

Scan in this model has always befuddled me but I guess I haven't spent the time to get it all straight. So I will throw this out but may not be 100% correct.

You can create up to 16 different scan lists. Scan lists are only used when Conventional scan is selected. Scan lists are assigned to personalities, not zones. They cannot be modified by the user. I really avoid scan lists.

If you use Conventional Single or Conventional Multi as a scan type then the scan list is ignored (if you have one filled out). Scan channels are dictated by the scan add colunm in the Zone/Channel Parameters window. Using either scan type allows you to program a button to add/delete scan members (and zones) on the fly. My preferred method.

I do have a 5210 somewhere that hasn't been sold yet but that's because I not sure where it is. If need be I could dig for it to test with.
