Bought a 690H that is ready to roll, but the power cable came without a fuse holder and fuse.

Anybody know what amp fuse should be in there? Hate to put something too big and kill the radio. Also, there are 2 positive and 2 negative leads from the radio. I'm guessing the radio uses 1 during normal non-Tx operation, and uses both to draw the 100 watts during Tx? This part is just a curiosity.

I looked at a brochure I have on these radios, the TK-690H is rated to draw less than 25 amps at transmit, and the TK-790 (none "H" ) is rated to draw 12 amps at transmit.

Hope this helps.

Take care, Rich

As I recall.....Twist the 2 red leads together and fuse for 25 amps, and twist the 2 black leads together and fuse for 25 amps.
