• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello to all.

I picked up a few Kenwwod TK-762HG-1 VHF mobiles (8ch type).

I'm using the KPG-56D programming software. It seems to program the frequencies fine.
I'm not getting any audio from the internal speakers of the 3 radios. It is fine if you plug in an external speaker. Is there something I need to reset (check or uncheck) in the software to get the internal speakers working, or is it a hardware jumper/switch?

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Frank

Yes, that was my first thought as well. I did check and they all are plugged in, cables looked good too.

Do these radios have the multi-pin Molex type connector hanging out the back? If so, try pins 6 and 12 on the Molex connector. This is the setup for using the external KES-4 speaker.
If you just want to use the internal speaker, you can remove the KCT-19 cable and reconnect the internal speaker. The internal speaker would be connected to "CN8" on the TX/RX board. It's at the rear of the radio, right side when facing the front. It's right by the external speaker connection (1/8" jack)

After checking the cables....I tested the speakers. Looks like EVERY ONE of the speakers was blown......Since it was all three radios, I kind of doubted it. Sure enough, when I connected another speaker by clip leads, it was loud and clear.....Go figure....Thanks everyone for responding. I appreciate it.
