Kenwood TM-D700 TX Delay?

I recently reinstalled my TM-D700A in my car to replace my other (ailing) dual-bander. I noticed that there seems to be a half second or so delay in the radio transmitter ramping up after I press the PTT switch.

I don't know if this was the case before when the same radio was in the old car or not.

Has anyone else noted this?

Corrosion on the PTT contact in the mic or the mic jack on the radio? Inadequate voltage source for the radio?

I am leaning toward the low voltage. I was trying it with the engine off, it seems to ramp quicker with the engine on.
