I‘ve owned a couple of Kenwood V71A’s in the last few years, but ended up trading or selling them.
I‘m thinking of buying another V71A, but before I do can someone tell me if the repeated output power remains high or max if the output channel is configured to “high” regardless of the power being crossbanded? (Yes, know about the rise in temp and I always run a cooling fan even at low power input)
I’ve used the V71A for crossbanding a low power UHF input to a high power VHF output, but never measured the actual power level being transmitted out of the VHF channel.
I experienced a significant power dtop on another crossbanding radio I purchased and I do want to revisit this problem.
Any feedback will be appreciate!
