Curious if anyone knows of any shops that will program Kenwoods for WISCOM. I am having some serious issues with Gencomm and would like to take my business elsewhere.

I’ll second Pointon Communications. Small business with great service and they program our fire department’s Kenwoods.

I fired off an email to pointon and already heard back. Working on setting up a time to meet already. Glad there are more options than just gencomm.

What Kenwood are you trying to get on the system?
I have an NX-5200 and it is already on wiscom. Long story short they locked me out of my radio and still sold me ~$800 worth of programming software/accessories/keys that I can’t use. Programmed the radio only half way as I was going to do the rest and now are ignoring me while I try to remedy the problem. They led me to believe that, like my TK-5210, when wiscom was put in I would still have access to the rest of the radio (config, conventional, scanlists ect) but that wasn’t the case. I gave them a solution that would allow what they promised, but nothing. Basically anyone that has the software for my radio (KPG-D1N) and the wiscom access key(s) can make the file. It locks me out of changing anything P25 but allows changing anything else on the radio which is perfect and what I wanted (and was told I could do). So my plan was to go to another shop that wasn’t mad at me for not buying my radio through them (then waiting 4-5 months to get it) and would actually work with me.

It is unfortunate that Kenwood has the system key limitations on the NX series radios like that.
