Previously I could monitor transmissions after initial dispatch for ambulances. All on same channel.
Now it seems the crews are possibly on an OPS channel maybe and I cannot see any additional channels when I try to update my scanner.
Can anyone help me with how to program my scanner to monitor the ambulances after dispatch or is that encrypted now ?
I can still hear the hospital transmissions with no problem and the initial dispatch...then nothing after that.
Thanks

Would help if you let us know what make & model scanner you're using. If said scanner discriminates traffic based on service types then you'll need to turn on "EMS-Tac" if you're unable to monitor the talkgroup below (NOT encrypted assuming RRDB is still accurate)

I can still hear the hospital transmissions with no problem
...so you ARE able to monitor talkgroup below?

Sorry....did that post in kind of a hurry on my phone and I haven't posted anything in a while. So forgot to put the scanner.

Yes, I can monitor the hospital transmissions and the dispatch. I have both of those above programmed.
I don't hear any communications after that anymore like I did in the past and I spoke to someone that works with Kershaw County EMS yesterday and they said that there have been some changes to the channels they use to communicate after being dispatched.
But they really didn't know that much about it other than that.

This is what I have for Kershaw County...

Someone local will need to weigh in regarding status of TGID 23512. If you do a channel hold on that talkgroup (press HOLD, key in TGID & press HOLD again) then remain on frequency for a bit, do you see the letters ENC flash up on the screen?

Additionally if you enable ID Search, do any undocumented TGIDs come up?

Not sure about Kershaw, more and more are going phase 2. his scanner is phase 1. IF so, he may need to upgrade.

I don't live near Kershaw County and so I don't monitor it. So this is all a guess.

Many counties have shifted to using consolidated Ops channels for FD and EMS response. FD and EMS are dispatched on their normal talkgroups, and then are assigned an Ops channel to coordinate their response. Charleston, Horry and Berkeley Counties all use some form of this approach, and Greenville does sort of something similar. Since so many counties now dispatch fire departments to medical calls as first responders to make up for the short supply of EMS workers, it's common for FD and EMS needing to coordinate on responses. This model facilitates that coordination, and probably allows for fewer dispatchers to handle the calls. It's possible that Kershaw Co has switched to something similar.

I see that we have some Kershaw County Fire Ops channels identified, perhaps those are being used. Or maybe there are new talkgroups in use that have not be submitted to the database yet. Scan in "ID Search" mode to discover unknown but active talkgroups.

It's also possible that new talkgroups are Phase II as someone else mentioned. Or it could be that the response talkgroups are encrypted. In either case, OP would not hear or see any evidence of those talkgroups on his scanner. Someone with a control channel decoding setup (like DSD+ or SDRTrunk or Unitrunker, etc) would need to find them. Or a listener with a Whistler scanner that supports Phase II and doesn't automatically mutes encryption.
