I put up a real antenna on Bote's Southernmost Feed so now it hears the Monroe County, Florida trunked system sites at Key West and Stock Island rock solid. That makes hearing the fire and police much more pleasant.
It also allows the scanner to hear marine traffic (which surrounds the island) and the UHF fire repeaters which I think are still used as tactical channels in some instances. I will be monitoring and can lockout some channels if they prove too chatty.

You can listen with WinAmp, iTunes, VLC, or Windows Media Player. I prefer WinAmp as it is simple to figure out and easy to use. It also displays the channel tags nicely.
This uses Peter's ScannerCast and just keeps chugging along.
