My thinking is eventually every public safety service in Monmouth County, will be dispatched by county. I never firmly believed this, until I saw Middletown switch. I always thought that they would be the last hold out. It make's for financial prudence, to do this. The few other town's that have their own 9-1-1 center's want to hold out for as long as possible.

Keyport was scheduled to switch today. Has anyone heard anything? After talking to one of their LE's last week, he says PD is going to the 700 trunked system. FD staying on VHF. EMS going to 700.

Heard from a reliable source that it was supposed to take place at 9am today. They tested Fire, EMS and OEM tones yesterday and 700mhz radios were installed in their ambulances and issued to their officers.

I heard that fire call today. First it was dispatched from their HQ, then county. Guess they're running dual dispatch for a little while. Their HQ is still dispatching cars on VHF also.

It is official. They switched at 10 am this morning. Keyport police will be digital trs encrypted. They still have the current channel as local chatter. Ems will be on trs and Fire is currently going to be on north.
