KHP Aircraft

It was reported on another group that they heard traffic on the old KHP aircraft frequency of 45.14. Thought the aircraft was down in the Garnett area last night.

Anyone else here this traffic, and if so did you hear any ground units and what frequencies were they on?

Has anyone else heard KHP using their old aircraft frequencies?

I have loaded the KHP frequencies back in my scanner and will start listening for them.

45.14 is the lowband channel that was (and still is somewhat) used by KHP aircraft. Most ops will be on the 800 channels in the area they are working in. Also might listen to 123.45- I heard them talking KHP aircraft to aircraft on that when they were working a manhunt near Ottawa the other night.

Thanks 123.45 is new to me, will add it to scanner right now.

I don't know about anywhere else in the state but usually around here they have call signs in the 800 series. I usually hear them on the 800mhz freq's talking with ground units. I will have to give the other a listen

Check this link for their call sign numbers- When they talk on the FAA radio they use the same number with HP on the end- E.G. the Topeka Helo that flies KC is 700 Hotel Papa.
