Here's my new setup in my 2004 Chrysler Sebring...

Radios:
Yaesu FT-7800R Dual Band w/ remote head. (On Dash above AC controls)
Uniden BC780XLT (Under stereo)
Uniden BCT-8 (Under 780XLT)
Uniden BC246T (On window w/ suction cup mounted holder)

Antennas:
Antennex Dual Band 2m/70cm (trunk-lip mounted) (Middle)
Larsen 800mhz 3db gain (trunk-lip mounted) (Left)
Generic 800mhz Cellular mag mount (Right)
Wilson 500 Mag Mount (roof) (not currently in use)


The pictures don't do it justice - especially the one with the flash, but it looks a lot better in the one with low light.

Honestly, it doesnt cause any problems. My right hand is always at 2 oclock, and the scanner is right behind my hand..

Very nice setup, I am interested to know if you are able to fully open your trunk without the antennas hitting your roof. Also, I am a big radar detector buff and have seen a lot of nice radio/scanner mobile setups only to be complemented by a cobra, uniden radar detector. With all the money you guys invest in radio equipment you should also get the best radar detectors available. Check out the Escort 8500 x50, Valentine V1, or Bel RX65. The range of these detectors is phenominal and yes, you will notice a difference between a Cobra and one of the ones I listed above. I went from a Cobra XRS 9500 to an 8500 and it was like night and day. This is not a knock on your setup just a suggestion.

The Dual-band antenna lays flat on the roof with the trunk fully opened.. The 800mhz Larsen has a spring, so when it touches the back window the spring flexes just a hair to allow it to not damage the window.. The mag-mount isn't long enough to touch anything.

Radar detector? I use it only on the highway...and then it's rare that I turn it on...

Just for the record, I do obey the speed limits. I enjoy leaning about speed enforcement practices in my area, and my detector is a great tool for this. For example I like to know the bands my local LEO's are using, the exact frequencies which can be used to find out what model radar gun, whether or not they use constant on, instant on or POP etc. It's really bad to generalize about all radar detector owners. The same can be said for us scanner owners. Just because we listen to law enforcement traffic does not mean that we are going to go out and commit a crime. If anyone would like to reply to this just send me a PM and I will be glad to respond.

It's all pretty neat. Although, it looks like magnet mounts. Are they? I had them on my 81 Grand Prix. Rusted clear through the trunk. I've just drilled holes every since !!! Steve/KB8FAR

The one on the roof is a Wilson 500 mag-mount, and the one on the right side of the trunk is a mag-mount cellular antenna used for 800mhz scanning. On the left is a larsen 800mhz antenna on a Pro-Am trunk-lip mount, and the one in the middle is an Antennex 2m/70cm dual band on a Larsen trunk-lip mount.
