Thats the first video I have seen on the SBS-3, thanks for sharing Lino. The audio sounds good, how do you like the sdr software and can Google Earth/Maps be integrated? Is the SBS-3 a better unit than the airnav radarbox?

This one has caught my eye since its inception. I don't want to detract from the aviation based theme of this thread, but out of curiosity how would you rate the SDR portion of this device alongside a hardware receiver and/or scanner for receiving signals through the spectrum? It's offered at one heck of a good price for a device that does so much.

Thanks in advance!

I don't want to dredge up an old thread, but by the same token I'm curious as to whether or not there has been any developments/enhancements in this device, particularly in the SDR portion. Info on the web continues to be quite vague. I haven't seen any references to any 3rd party SDR software working with it. It would be nice if the capability existed to view each receiver's reported 8 MHz bandwidth with a waterfall type display. The Basestation software manual addendum that's available via Kinetic's website is pretty clear cut but it seems that the Basestation software is somewhat restrictive in use, given the capability and flexibility of today's SDR's. After all they are called "software defined" for a reason. It almost seems to me that this is a potentially brilliant device that is by and large existing in a vacuum.
