Does anyone have the latest freqencies for King George Sheriff and Fire/Rescue. They have upgraded their system and have added additional frequencies.

Interesting, I didn't know they had made any chances. In what way did they upgrade? Just an addition of frequencies or equipment as well? Sorry I don't have a response for you, but I will watch to see what comes of your query. 73s.....Alan

King George added additional frequencies for the Sheriff and fire/rescue. They added another tower and went to a simulcast VHF system with three towers and new hadtware.

Courtesy of David Schoenberger (apoligies if I misspelled that!) on the ScanRVA group:

King George has made some tone changes for sheriff/fire.

Sheriff
159.0900 [146.2] Dispatch

Fire
151.1150 [141.3] New primary dispatch?
155.7600 [141.3] Old primary dispatch; unknown new use

His post was made about 3 weeks ago, however, it seems that it's been determined that since that time, that the Fire/Rescue dispatch has remained on 155.760. I'm too far away to verify, but I am sure that David can add some info for us when he sees this thread.

I also see that a bunch of 173MHz freq's are licensed to King George County, related to public safety. Anyone know what these might be used for?

The Sheriff has changed the tone, but still uses the same frequency. 155.7600 continues to be fire dispatch, with the new tone. I don't know what 151.1150 is going to be used for.

The 173 MHz frequencies are probably for data (no voice) related to monitoring water/flood levels.

154.800 mhz.

This morning I was hearing King George on 154.800 mhz., no pl. It appeared to be Sheriff related comms. Interesting because King George Co. is not licensed for 154.800 mhz. operation. I just checked the FCC database to be sure. 154.800 mhz. is licensed in Va. to Madison Co. and Prince George Co. where I live. I am about 80 air miles from King George and normally do not hear them. The ducting disappated about noon and I presently am not hearing them. A frequency search for PA, MD and NC disclosed no King George. My mapping software returned King George only for Canada and Virginia. So, unless proven otherwise I assume it is the King George Co. SO although I cannot locate any new license for them on this frequency.
