Kiryas Joel EMS dispatch by OC911

This could be removed if not appropriate place but was curious to know when did Orange County 911 dispatch Kiryas Joel EMS to calls that aren't in district or mutual aid.

The other night on December 29th around 2:00am they Dispatched KJ EMS for a 4 Car MVA with fire on Interstate 87 Southbound mile mark 38.5 x East Village Rd in the Town of Tuxedo. I found it odd and unusual as I never heard them dispatch them to calls that were outside of their district or mutual with a Medic to another town.

Thought maybe someone on here knew more if they changed how they are Dispatched now?

Maybe for their ALS if they're the closest medics? Or just because it was a four car accident and they needed a good amount of mutual aid.

The portion of the New York State Thruway that is within the Town and Village of Tuxedo is inside of Kiryas Joel EMS's district. Tuxedo VAC and Medic 31, since December of 2018, refuse to respond to calls-for-service on the Thruway inside their district. Woodbury Community Ambulance declined to pick up the additional coverage area. KJ EMS offered to cover that segment of the Thruway and have been doing so ever since.
