Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I'm using my KNG P800 as a receive only device on a local system where there are about 10 towns on the system and every town's local FD, EMS service, and PD has their own dedicated talkgroup. Even with a few of the PDs encrypted that still leaves me about 24 talkgroups needed to monitor the whole system. Is there a way I can monitor more than 16 talkgroups on a P25 Trunk Channel knob position? I'm currently using NeoVision 2.4.0 software.

There's no way to add more than 16 talkgroups to a scan list, no. I am not sure whether TG 65535 ($FFFF), which is a wildcard that monitors all talkgroups on a conventional channel, will also monitor all talkgroups on a trunked system. Might be a solution for your case if it works.

Instead of using Add, paste more channels into the list.

I'm using RES 5.5.9 currently. Bring up a Scan List, select a channel in the scan list, right click, Copy, right click, Paste Above.

I will try too. Have you found a limit to this, or any drawbacks? I never really understood the reason for the 16 TG limit, which isn't unique to BK either.

Can you still edit the scan list from the radio, or does that aspect go haywire once you have more than 16 TGs in the list?

I haven't found a limit, but I haven't tried to.
I'm not aware of any drawbacks, but I also haven't verified that it actually scans them all.
The scan list can be edited but it is seems to be still limited to 16 channels.
So it may be that you can add more than 16 in the software but the radio doesn't actually scan them.

While it's good to know that I'm not the only person who has wanted the ability to add more channels to my BK radio scan lists, looking at RES 5.5.9 Help topic on "P25 Trunking - Scan Lists" makes me think that the channel limit is actually 16.
