• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Has anyone successfully paired any Bluetooth earbuds to the KNG2? If so, were you only able to listen or were you also able to take with them?

Just curious if there is a brand out there that works, or if someone has more details on the KNG2 Bluetooth version.

Thanks.

Years ago i paired mine with an old motorola bluetooth ear bud. The kind that had a plastic clip goes over your ear and had the flip out mic, that also turned it on and off. Made for cell phones..
Also paired it with a Noxgear 39g BT speaker. That worked well.

I was curious if an older single-ear phone style one might work, but I didn't have one handy to test. Thanks for this info. It gives me some directions to try.

I tried to pair my new Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with my KNG2-CMD yesterday. The radio said it paired successfully (Pair Success) and I can see them in the Devices menu now. However, no audio came over the ear buds. Maybe I just need to change a setting in RES. I have never really had good experience in using bluetooth accessories with any of my BK radios. I will try to pair my new AirPods with a BKR 9000 and my BKR 5000 when I get it back from BK.

I tried changing the audio settings in RES with no luck. Also tried different combinations with different firmware versions (5.7.11, 5.7.10 & 5.7.7). Nothing worked. The ear buds would "pair" to the radio but the only sound you get is the occasional beep you get when the ear buds are in standby or trying to connect to the device.
