Admittedly, I don't monitor military that much, but tonight there's been a UH-60 doing large loops in my area at about 2000 ft.
ADSB shows a callsign of KNIFE51. Online search shows it's existence, but does anyone know if they're assigned to a regular mission or what they may do ?

And are there any freqs I could find them on ? I could scan the entire mil-air band using a couple of radios, but I thought I'd ask here as well.

And since they're at FL 2k, would they interact with civilian ATC ?

Apologies for the newbie questions!

its funny I saw that as well, and wondered the same thing , my take is that you need to dedicate a scanner to all the ATC and other freqs for your area, but you need to be hyper aware,
up here I have been seeing alot of poseidon P8 (Whidby NAS) doing the rounds including ones that dont show a callsign and was able to ID it as he transited our airspace , so what I read hear is two things eagle focus on watching screen listening to atc , they follow same rules , as to the mission who the F knows ! :ROFLMAO: , If I had to guess its gaining invaluable hours on the platform
