Im not real sure what you mean by enter, when i push the select knob it just adj. the volume. when i press hold and l/o it turns the whole site off. I have looked through all the talk groups and cant find 8800 tgid anywhere.

Look at your scanner while it is scanning, does it say ID SEARCH or ID SCAN?
If it say ID SEARCH then just push the scan button on your scanner one time and it should switch to ID SCAN. If 8800 isn't programmed into your scanner, it should not stop on it anymore.

8800 is a data channel, I believe. It gets alot of hits from unitrunker. I mean alot. That is why your scanner is stopping on it all the time. If you lock out that talkgroup id then you shouldnt hear it anymore like it sounds like you done.

I have more unidentified talkgroups that came from unitrunker. It doesnt come in good enough to listen to so I cant really help ID any of them. Barely have enough signal to run unitrunker.

8800 is the Fire Dept MOSCAD it used for fire station alerting (turning on lights & muting PA system), sending call information to printers at the stations, & opening & closing garage bay doors

MOSCAD, SCADA, and other similar systems are very cool indeed. In conjunction with Aural Tone/Vocal Alerting you get your pager set off, radios sqawking, buzzer/bells etc clanging... Lights going on, bay door opening, printer putting out hard copy of the run. All pretty much at the same time. And as you roll out you use the signalling to shut of the PA, bells/buzzers, lights, and close the bay doors al while your rolling out and hitting the "Responding/En Route" Tabs on your MDC, and doing the 5 other things your doing when your starting a run.

Yeah being a firefighter, EMS, EMT, First Responder etc... Is 100% Controlled Chaos a lot of the time....
