Their philosophy is that they have the MCT and will get their dispatch there. They don't need to HEAR it. Pretty rotten philosophy if you ask me, and it sure opens up a lot of liability issues too. Makes me wish I was a lawyer.

I wonder what it sounds like in a noisy fire truck....

Headsets are worn in the truck, not exactly noise cancelling but they eliminate alot of background noise

Not sure. The Dispatcher came on at 0500 with the station ID then stated that the auto dispatch was going to be used on live calls until 0600. I monitored the hour and I would say about a dozen calls (+-) went out. Then promptly at 0600 they were back to the Dispatcher.
