KPG-4 and TK-730H

I have done everything I can think of to get this thing to read. Old slow computer, KPG-7D, KPG-4 cable, DOS (not just the window).. I keep getting a "check connection" error message. I have tried two different cables. I have experience with Mother /\/\, but I am not a Kenwood guy. Is there something I'm missing?

Quick question, is it pure dos? Or like Windows 95/98 restarted into dos mode?
The reason I ask is my old computer is Win98 booted into dos mode. Sometimes Windows will disable the the com port (go figure) and I have to re-enable it in windows then reboot back to dos to get the com port to work.

IIRC you have to put the radio into programming mode. Are you doing that? I'll have to check, but I think you push key one and two and power it on, you will see PG in the display.

I'll try that tomorrow. Its windows 98 but booted with a dos boot disk. I'll have to find the hardware settings somewhere in that dinosaur. It's my third programming computer. They are getting hard to find.

Yep. Hold "button 1" while powering on... I see pg on the screen but the thing just wont communicate.
