I'm seeing activity on this TG in Pro96Com. Anyone have an idea of the use? Haven't checked to see on voice grants, or monitored yet.

We can add 2435 to the list. More relevant to me because I'm in Butler County (Andover). Only one radio affiliated at the moment (20947). The 209xx range are for dispatchers. Andover has 20951, 20952. I'm wondering if possibly associated with Andover. 2430 is the parks TG, which is never used. Again only the base/console radio affiliated though.

602 I believe is Sumner Co. Keep monitoring it and let's see what we come up with.

I've made 3 or 4 in the past like 3 months about that. What I'd like to do is try and get down there and see if I can ascertain who has what where on the system.

I did catch some brief audio some time back that might be able to help (for someone who is in that area and is familiar with dispatcher/officer voices and such)

Last night I was listening for a while. Heard a couple traffic stops and bit much else. Something about K15, Mulvane, and Belle Plaine so Sumner County area would make sense.

I'm still not quite comfortable with submitting a new TG to the database just yet... not knowing definitively whether it is strictly County Sheriff, etc. or if it is all law enforcement in the county or what. I think I will try to find contact information for the county down there and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

This was a mistake. It was TG 2345, which is one up from El Dorado Fire (2344). Forget everything about it possibly being associated with Andover.

While we're (sort of) on the topic of Andover and El Dorado, what's up with both using heavy amounts of encryption on the PD dispatch channels? Seems to be a common theme with Andover PD doing it at night. El Dorado seems to do it much more frequently at all hours (had a really hard time receiving any of their traffic). Just some observations last time I was in the area.

Also, is BUCO dispatching for Andover Fire now? Seems a lot has changed down there.

Sorry about the random hijack guys. Just curious if scanningisfun knew since he resides in the area.

Carry on... :)

The few random times I've heard Andover PD I haven't heard any encryption... I mostly get the SO, and that's only when they're here doing transfers or when there's one at KLETC.

You are right that with El Dorado, County remains in the clear while most if not all units stay encrypted. As for Andover Police using encryption, they don't really overly use it. I may see a specific radio more than others possibly meaning it wasn't switched off? Usually if they don't want something over the air, they will just use cell phones.

As for Andover Fire, they are dispatched on the Andover Fire Operations channel, with Butler Fire and Andover Police 1 patched in (Scanner will stop on AFD Ops). It depends on the call as to what channel they will respond on. Event 7 is the usual response channel, but for medical calls Rescue 35 will switch to EMS to communicate to Medic 30, or other BCEMS responding units. When a medical call comes into the city of Andover, it is handled by both PSAPs (Andover/County). Andover only dispatches fire though. County can dispatch AFD, but it's only done when the response is out of the city limits. Even then it just depends on the way the call is handled. Andover gets information to County using different methods. The Butler PSAP channel (Encrypted), is used between them, but there are other methods as well.
