L-out and copy functions for PRO-95

Hi PRO-95 gang,

Does anyone know if it's possible to copy a channel or group of channels to other banks without having to re-enter the frequencies and Alpha tags?

I have the programming software, but sometimes when I am mobile, I would like to copy 10-12 channels into an empty bank for monitoring instead of locking out the other 40-50 channels in the bank. I have found no way to do this.

The other option would be to lockout a range of channels in order to avoid having to stop through each one. This also does not appear to be a function of the PRO-95.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You can do this with Win95. If you are trying to do it on the spur of the moment, I don't believe this is poss.

I kind of figured it was not possible. I wonder if other scanner hobby folks run into this problem? With 100 channel capacity per bank, you want to use as much as you can, but it's also hard to lockout 40 channels throughout the bank when you just want to listen to a particular call using a couple of trunk groups and a couple of of conventional frequencies.

This sort of thing is what makes the memory setup on the 246 so darn nice.

PRO 95

Is it always the same 10-12 Channels?
I just have them in their own bank.
I have city fire and city PD in bank 4
I have just city fire in bank 0.
It does not effect the trunking, When they are both on sometimes I pick up Fire on bank 0, sometimes on bank 4.
When I just want to hear fire I turn off bank 4.

That does suck with the 95. What I really HATE, is that you can't hold a talkgroup until a voice transmission happens. I like to watch TV, etc., and monitor only the "All Call" channel that maybe comes up a few times a day only. I'm glad I kept my Pro 94.

You can do that though... sorta. Just put that one talkgroup in a bank by it's self and close it. Then when you want to just listen to All Call, shut the other banks off.

That does work, but it waste 99 ID entries. I've been using two banks searching 900MHz systems. I guess when I get tired of that, I'll put "All Call" by itself.

It seems that the bank shortage comes way before the actual channel shortage. I use bank 0 as sort of a clipboard if I only want to monitor a few frequencies when they finally get action like the fire freqs in the 154.xxx area. I also have those same frequencies duplicated in the trunk banks, but certainly don't want a bunch of trunk county and police traffic if a fire or emergency is in progress.

I lost an entire bank because I also have an RC airplane hobby. Using Win95 software, I dumped the non-supported 72.x Mhz freqs into bank 9 so I can instantly scan radio control channels when I go flying and know if somebody is on my channel.

All in all, I like the PRO-95 despite its drawbacks.
