Does anyone monitor the LA City TRS and listen to the LADOT Parking Enforcement?

I have most of the TGIDs in the system for the LADOT Parking Enforcement, which is something like 01-041 through 01-070. However, I am hearing them on 15-154 through 15-157, sometimes simultaniously with the normal TGIDs. Anyone know what these "15-XXX" series TGIDs are?

Sometimes I hear all the areas on one TGID (Metro, South, West, and Valley). Is this because they are short on dispatchers?

Does anyone have the "real" lineup of TGIDs for LADOT Parking Enforcement?

TGIDs

Those IDs are used when they are patching two or more TGs with one disptatcher.
Thank you. This makes sense. I guess that is why I am hearing more than one area on the same TGID (as I previously wrote).

So do we know which ones are what? What shows up on the user's radio?

15-XXX - ?
15-154 - ?
15-155 - ?
15-156 - ?
15-157 - ?
15-XXX - ?

Your 396 has the ability to show patched group IDs as long as you do not alias them to a name (or turn of aliasing with FUNC-5 while manually parked). When the ID comes up the number on the right is the group patched to the patch group. BUT, this is for decimal mode. I haven't run mine in that funky Uniden mode yet.

I mean what shows up on the City radios when they use the patch.

What patch is for what areas? For example, is 15-154 for Valley and West, etc.?

Nothing different shows on their radios. They operate on their normal channels.

There is information passing over the control channel that's telling these radios, on these specific talkgroups, to temporarily, and secretly, listen on the 15-xxx talkgroup. The system takes care of the rest.

What I was saying is that the 396 will tell you which TGs are patched to the 15-xx group by displaying it on the screen. Otherwise you have to run an EDACS decoding app to tell you this.

Only TGID and TRS Frequency: No Other Group TGID's

I don't see any number showing up on the right. I am searching in "search" mode (as opposed to "scan" mode). When the patched TGID comes up, all I see in the display is the TGID and the frequency of the TRS channel. For example, I only see:
ID:15-154
866.6875

Is there some mode or setting I need to put the scanner in? Are you talking about the bars that show up when you select the "volume" control when scanning a TRS? I have no idea how that works and am not quite sure what it is for except to see other usage on the TRS - not sure where the placement of the bars means.

As I mentioned, I was speaking of decimal mode. I don't know if it works in AFS mode. There is nothing special you need to do. Though sometimes the scanner shows them and sometimes not. It needs a long enough period to catch it on the control channel.

What And Where Should I See The Info?

I guess I don't know to what your are refering; I have never seen that.

Could you show me an example? Similar to this example of the screen when the scanner stops on a TGID from the LA City TRS:
DOT Parking Enf
DOT Valley

X867.6375
SO: * * * 4 * * * * * *
GRP* * 3 * * * * * * 0

When I hear the patch, it appears like this (even when the transmission is for a long period), which is only received when in ID Search Mode:

DOT Parking Enf
ID:15-154
X867.6375
SO: * * * 4 * * * * * *
GRP* * 3 * * * * * * 0

I guess the question should be, what is "decimal mode" and how does one activate it?

Thank you for your help.

Under Sys Options there's EDACS ID Format.

Screen caps are attached. 275 is the normal TG and 2 is the Patch TG ID. Func-5 switches between text and numerical displaying of ID (while holding).

With EDACS patches they either start at the very lowest range or use the highest and work down (yours for example).

I found that, thanks. I will have to use this a few times to see how it works. I notice that I have to scan in "search," otherwise it does not pick up the TGIDs I have put in under the AFS Format. Also, when I switch from Decimal to AFS or back, and return to the system, it doen's go back to the same system, but rather channel 1 of group 1 of system 1 - in otherwords, the first channel on the scanner. This makes it a little hard to try to match up the AFS numbers with the decimal numbers.

First of all, this thread is 11 years old.
Second of all, that system has been out of service for about a year now. See the following thread and database info for new P25 system...

Thank you for your reply. Yes I understand this was 11 years old. I just did know how to start a post. I did have them on my scanner before, I didn't know it has been that long since I try to hear them. Wow time flys. I did load the new sites and did not get anything. so I will continue to read and see what I am getting wrong. Once again Thank you
