Was searching for some 9900mhz frequencies the other day and came across a repeater operating in failsoft mode.

After searching for the frequencies, I discovered it belonged to the LA County Office Of Education SmartNet system. Looks like they pulled the plug and left the sites to TX away in failsoft mode.

Wonder if any of the frequencies have been or will be reissued for other activity?

Seems a little odd for the County to walk away from 10 900Mhz when they are having difficulties cobbling together enough pairs for LA-RICS.

My thought is they transitioned users to another system, then pulled the plug on the Smartnet controller to force the voice repeaters into failsoft. That way the frequencies are still being "used" until they work those channels into a new system.
