La Verne PD 506.21250 was analog about 6 months ago and seems to have switched to P25 Digital. I programmed the frequency into my Pro 96 and for some reason I can't decrypt it. It shows DG in the corner but everything is garbled. My other P25 channels are working just fine. Now I thought it was a weak signal but I drove into the city and still the same. I was thinking maybe it's encryption but I can't believe a small city like La Verne would pay for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Their emission designator indicates that it is Harris OpenSky.
Also a lot of agencies are purchasing their new systems as well as encryption capabilities with homeland security grants.

Could narrowbanding be an issue?

11K2F3E: 2.5 kHz deviation FM "narrowband 12.5 kHz" analog voice (FMN mode in RRDB - may also be 11K0 and 11K3 bandwidth)

According to the FCC La Verne modified as of 1/25/2012 and changed 506.21250 & 509.21250 to 11K2F3E.

If there are any Db changes kindly submit them.

For La Verne specifically, there was talk in the ICIS thread last summer that they were one of 5 cities in discussion about joining. Wonder if this is related in any manner.

If it was narrowbanding wouldn't the scanner still be able to listen but at a low volume?

OK thanks for the clarification.

I assume the A7D NAC which we show in the Db remains still valid?

La Verne encrypted? Let's start the same rants as we have for Santa Monica, Orange County and Pasadena.
